Lowering Cholesterol with Apple Cider Vinegar

Studies of apple cider vinegar (ACV) and its affect on lowering cholesterol just don’t appear in the scholarly journals. Few scientific studies if any have been completed and published. However, there are numerous testimonies on the web from people who swear by the ability of ACV to lower their cholesterol. Cider vinegar has been around as an accepted remedy for hundreds of years.

It’s strange that few studies if any have been done on humans. It would seem logical that cholesterol would be affected by ACV, since vinegar is a natural emulsifier (liquefier of fats) and cholesterol is fat.

People take a dosage of two tablespoons a day. You can place the vinegar on a salad or some people drink it mixed with a fruit juice – like cranberry or orange juice. Drinking of organic ACV by itself is not recommended because it could irritate or even burn the throat. There are numerous recipes: one is the mixing of 2 cups apple juice, 2 cups grape juice and ¼ cup ACV. This makes a good-tasting, healthy cocktail.

  4. Your assertion that apple cider vinegar does not appear in the scholarly journals is simply not true. I have ebsco open as I write and am looking at multiple pages of these articles. I’m glad that you see the benefit of ACV, but you shouldn’t portray it as a medical miracle cure-all that the medical community doesn’t know anything about. Maybe it’s the fact that you don’t actually read the scholarly journals and are trying to make yourself look like some in the know.
