Hardcore Workout Method

Have you ever tried a circuit routine? Circuit training is an advanced workout that can be done at home, in a work out center, with or without weights and machines.

Basically, a circuit training routine is when you do lots of physical exercises in immediate succession. You do the workouts in a series and repeat the series several times. So, in a sense, you’re going around in a circle, doing one exercise after the next.

In a regular workout routine, you would first do one exercise, then pause for a minute or two, then do a subsequent set of that same exercise, pause again and so forth. The reason for this is, of course, to allow each muscle some recovery time in between units. At the same time, you stimulate each muscle group several times by doing more than one set of reps. Recuperation time is absolutely essential. Particularly if you are training to failure (i.e. the maximum amount of repetitions you can do for each set), then a recovery period is required, since you couldn’t start a new set right away, even if you wanted to.

Circuit routines are no different in this aspect, since each individual muscle group gets enough time to recover, while you are exercising other muscle groups with other kinds of exercises. At the same time, though, you’re training your body overall almost without interruption.

This means that doing a circuit workout can be extremely tough, but it also has great advantages. The intensity of the workout as a whole is much greater than with classic routines, which also translates to greater potential for fat-loss and a better growth-impulse for your muscles. Because of this, circuit training programs are very well suited to gain lean muscle mass.

There are also a few downsides to this kind of workout, though. In a gym, it can be difficult, because the circuit routine will depend on every set of weights and machine to be unoccupied when you need it. This workout method is also not one that should be done for the long-term, as the overall stress on your system might be too great. The best use of this kind of exercise is to do it periodically, to give your body a new growth impulse with a new and intense workout. I recommend doing circuit routines for two weeks every two to three months.
