Does Taste and Convenience Result in Heart Disease and Diabetes?

Today I had an enlightening experience. I was sitting in a room waiting for my number to be called so I could speak to one of Social Security’s finest. A young mother came into the room with her toddler in tow. In his hand was a paper container with a straw sticking out into his mouth. He sucked away at this imitation fruit juice probably mostly sugar – or I hate to think of it – or some sugar substitute.
My mind flashed back to my youth and I thought of myself in the same situation. I was lucky if I had a bottle of whole milk and be sucking on the nipple. Now whole milk has been shown to be too full of saturated fats to appear in a baby’s milk bottle anymore. But when you consider that whole milk is a lot better for a child than that awful sugary liquid that child was drinking.
It’s no wonder children are getting diabetes when mothers start feeding their young sugary-junk food. Not only will that boy have dental problems real soon, but his heart and blood system are going to start to develop problems. Additionally there are probably preservatives or God only knows what in that juice which will undoubtedly affect his young system in some unnatural way.
For some reason which I will never know the child liked that fruit juice. His parents must have introduced him to it and he developed a liking for it. The mother brought it for him to keep him entertained while she would be waiting. He liked the taste of the juice and it was convenient, but what a poor introduction for the beginning of his life.
You know the saddest thing of all is that a good healthy drink of real fruit juice – like plain apple juice – would probably have been cheaper in cost and would have been heart-healthy for the child.
